JUNIORS END SEASON WITH A BANG!

As the season inevitably comes to an end, the 2010-2011 Seton Junior Dance Team has much to be proud of. From the very beginning the girls performed a powerful, difficult, and all around fun Pom routine. This year's Pom theme was "Danger" and with the upbeat music and energy that the team embodied, the girls demanded the attention of the audience during their entire performance. The crowd was undoubtedly entertained every time the Seton Juniors took the dance floor. Although the Pom routine may have been the teams strongest - Jazz was just as enjoyable to watch. The jazz routine brought out the girls sassy sides as they danced to "Cooler Than Me" by Mike Posner. Most of the members on the team would say that Jazz was their favorite to perform for their friends and family because it was so different and fun!

This year's junior team did so well that they were undefeated in Pom for almost their entire season, placing second only once. At the competition right before JAMfest Nationals, the Seton Juniors took second place for the first time in Pom at the AmeriDance Competition hosted by Beavercreek High School. There is no question that this experience actually motivated the girls to work even harder and reminded them of their main goal of the season– to finish off the year as National Champions! There were only two practices remaining after Beavercreek that separated them from JAMfest Nationals and those two practices were the best the Seton Junior Team had seen all year long. The girls put 110% into those 5 hours they spent together working on pointing their toes, nailing their turns, improving their jumps, and hitting every movement with passion and power.

In the end, all their hard work paid off because the first day of the JAMfest competition the Seton Juniors placed second in their division for Pom and fourth in Jazz. Excitingly enough their score was less than a point behind the first place team in Pom. The closeness in the scores gave the team the extra drive they needed to give their all in the final performance on the second day of Nationals. And on Sunday no one in the audience could deny how much the Seton Juniors wanted to win it! They gave that extra 'umpf' and more to their performance and everything that they had worked for the entire season showed in the two minutes they took the floor for their last time as a team.

Memories were made and goals were reached that same day when the Seton Juniors received first place in the Junior Large Pom Category and were announced Champions of both the Junior Small and Large Pom divisions. The final placement for Jazz was fourth, which is yet another great accomplishment for the team. The girls worked so hard and deserve to celebrate such a successful season. Congratulations Seton Juniors! Seton High School and especially your coaches are very proud of you!
