THE FINAL PUSH TOWARDS NATIONALS 2012!
The preparation for Nationals [2012] is a long and hard journey. Practicing 4 days a week (with many performance days thrown in) can really take it's toll on our bodies and minds, but in the end it is all worth it to get to where we want to be. We have been preparing for Nationals for over 9 months now, and so far, the hard work has paid off.
The Seton Varsity dance team has practiced every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday since May. As we continue to train for Nationals going into this final month, we are doing a lot of new and different things than we have in the past to try to give us that extra edge. Every practice we strengthen ourselves by doing more crunches, pushups, and planks than earlier in the season. On Saturdays we do leg strengthening exercises with resistance bands and also practice our turns and jumps in small groups. All of this will really help us get to where we want to be when Nationals finally comes around. One more thing that has really helped us get to where we want to be is our team bonding! We have had team sleepovers, done team bonding activities at practice, and team lunches before big competitions.
The road to Nationals is a long 9 months but when it finally arrives, the journey seems so short. We have worked so hard to get to where we are now and we are going to continue to fight even harder to get that top spot. However, no matter what happens at Nationals in just a few short weeks, we will dance for each other, we will dance for our coaches, we will dance for our school, family & friends. We will dance because we LOVE it!!!
